Domains For Sale

I started investing in internet domain names in August of 2005. Not quiet as early as Josh in the 1994 Wired article when asked “Are you finding that the Internet is a big thing?” as asked by Jane Hulbert, the helpful McDonald’s media-relations person, Josh replied, 'Yes, In some quarters, the Internet is a very big thing."  I too, like Josh and many of you also wish to have a Time Machine to go back and make "the internet thing" a bigger part of my investment portfolio. My first domain name cost $1.99 USD.

Did you know that we.com sold for $ 8,000,000 USD in July 2015(8 million) ? and hotdog.com for a cool $150,000 USD!

Even though many of the TLD .COM names of 1, 2 and even 3 names have now been registered we managed to snag a few of them over the years. We are also somewhat talented at creating the new .COM names that offer a varied shade of a TLD name which may be tied up in someone's vault for an obscene price and your company may be needing a more viable, online presence immediately to be first to market your product or service and are willing to go with a daring new spin on a classic old name. That's where we can help. We will not tinker much with the hyphens but are very adept at combining 2 words for a catchy sounding amalgam. Just ask for help in creating a new name.

When did this "Internet thing" begin ? Well, you have to revert back to the very primal first days of the World Wide Web, as we cautiously called it back then. It was the early to mid nineties and we were still accepting that we could carry a "mobile phone?" with us everywhere we went and be bothered with it throughout our daily activities. So the idea that there would also one day be a centrally connected "Go to" database that housed EVERYTHING would continue to be far-fetched for quite some time. So, an internet name or Domain name registration began as a necessary evil to setup a website, which was itself a new aspect to the internet. Fast forward more than 20 years to 2019 and you would find a whole new world of Web Technology and eCommerce as we call it now. Has the Web not changed your life just in the past year? Imagine what we'll see in the next 5 years, or even the next 10 years?

History (per WikiPedia)

The first commercial Internet domain name, in the TLD .com, was registered on 15 March 1985 as www.symbolics.com by Symbolics Inc., a computer systems firm in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

By 1992, fewer than 15,000 com domains had been registered. If only you had enjoyed that Big Mac then registered the name - https://namecorp.com/billions-registered/#.VuIrXPkrKUk

In December 2009, 192 million domain names had been registered.[14] A large fraction of them are in the .com TLD, which as of March 15, 2010 had 84 million domain names, including 11.9 million online business and e-commerce sites, 4.3 million entertainment sites, 3.1 million finance related sites, and 1.8 million sports sites.[15] As of July 2012 the .com TLD has more registrations than all of the ccTLDs combined.[16]

From Amazon.com, which registered its domain name in 1994, and Google, which registered Google.com as a domain name in 1997, to Facebook in 2004, the .COM is the global online standard for doing business. .COM addresses are your best choice for making your online identity recognizable, easily found and trusted on the global Internet.

There are over 350 million domain names registered as of March 2018 with an average of 100,000 registered daily according to the Domain Industry Brief by VeriSign.
